Inuit folklore has always dealt with community and drew inspiration from the immediate environment—the ice, sea, and land. As a people, we thrived in proximity to the Arctic ice, yet what happens now, as the ice is disappearing, will affect not just the Inuit communities of the far North, but everyone. Told from an Indigenous perspective and intertwined with Greenlandic folklore the film explores the decades old relationship between Inuit of Greenland and the ice cap, set against the backdrop of the current climate crisis.

Inuk Elder Levinia Brown tells how she was born while her family was travelling by dog team across the open tundra. Hand-stitched cutout stop motion animation illustrates her oral history.

With movement inspired by Merce Cunningham's iconic piece "50 Looks," a group of dancers move together through a vast landscape seemingly plucked from an alternate future. Just as changing light infiltrates the choreography, so do 35mm negative manipulations, compelling the dancers to engage with forces beyond time.

It questions why the UK prison system is currently in its biggest expansion in more than a century, exposing naturalising language around this expansion.
