Unbound

Here is a deliciously defiant program, dedicated to those who no longer feel the need to ask permission to exist. These protagonists reject predetermined paths, break away from conventions, and invent their own ways of inhabiting the world. In Barking in the Dark, Marie Losier immerses us in the elusive universe of The Residents, emblematic figures of the American musical avant-garde. Behind their masks and sonic experiments emerges a radically independent posture, one rooted in creation on the margins and a refusal to submit to imposed rules. With Les derniers vagabonds, we are drawn into the everyday reality of choosing to live differently. Far from institutions, where the road becomes a refuge and the forest a home, the film follows two individuals in Colombia who transform survival into an act of freedom. Blurring the boundaries of documentary and performance, The First Indigenous Female Pornographer introduces the character of Audrey Little-Breast, who confronts the persistent racist and patriarchal fantasies imposed on Indigenous women, exposing their harmful consequences. And when rebellion takes the form of playful surrender, Hysterical Fit of Laughter reminds us that it is never too late for reinvention and new adventures. For anyone who refuses to fit into a straightjacket and finds conformity desperately dull, this program is an invitation to breathe freely.
