  • Marie-Pier Ottawa

    Marie-Pier, a young woman in her early twenties, is no stranger to Wapikoni Mobile. A native of the Atikamekw community of Manawan, Marie-Pier traveled to South America (Brazil, Paraguay and Chile) in 2010 accompanied by Wapikoni Mobile’s General Manager, Manon Barbeau. There she presented two of her latest films, namely The Tonsure and The Small Pleasures. She was also very moved to meet Aboriginals from South America, and took the opportunity to forge ties with representatives of the Guarani nation in Brazil and Paraguay as well as creators from the Mapuche Nation in southern Chile. In 2007 she directed the film She and I, which was widely screened at festivals across the world, including the Montreal First Peoples Festival, the Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival (WAFF), the Honest Planet Film Festival (France) and the Carrousel international du film de Rimouski.

  • Elisa Moar

    Élisa Moar is originally from Manawan and studied photography in college. A fan of special effects and image transformation, she dreams of immersing viewers in strange and fantastic worlds. Élisa directed her first experimental film, Marées, in 2012. Among other things, she has taken part in a UQAM seminar in editing and scriptwriting. Her favourite hobby is to explore Photoshop software when she feels so inspired. Although not currently employed, she is actively involved in internships and other film-related training.
